Prime Fitness Prodigy Adjustable RO-T8 Pull-up Station

Today I’m reviewing the Prime Fitness Prodigy Adjustable RO-T8 Pull-Up Station. This unique attachment changes the way pull-ups feel compared to a traditional fixed bar. I’ll break down the performance, features, adjustments, installation, and whether I recommend it.

First Impressions and Performance

The very first thing I noticed when using this attachment is how much more challenging it makes pull-ups. On a traditional fixed bar, you can use a little momentum or rigidity to your advantage. With this station, because the handles rotate freely, any lateral movement leaks energy instead of helping you. That makes each rep harder and cleaner.

Another huge difference was in my forearms. The first time I did a full pull-up session on these, my forearms were extremely sore—something I’ve never experienced on a straight bar, angled bar, or any other pull-up variation. The fully articulating, rotating handles massively increase forearm recruitment, and that makes pull-ups a much more complete exercise.

Handle Functionality

The RO-T8 handles rotate a full 360 degrees. You can lock into a fixed position if you want to maintain one grip, or you can rotate naturally throughout the pull. The flexibility here is second to none. It gives you the freedom to train in whatever way feels best for your shoulders, elbows, and wrists.

This combination of stability and free movement makes the exercise both more challenging and more customizable. For anyone who has struggled with wrist or elbow discomfort on traditional bars, this design could make a huge difference.

Adjustment Options

The pull-up station offers 11 different adjustment points on each side. That means you can go extremely wide—wider than I would ever realistically use—or bring them all the way in for ultra-close pull-ups.

At 6’1”, I found plenty of range in the adjustments. Having this level of flexibility makes the station adaptable for different body types and training goals.

Installation and Modifications

Here’s where things get tricky. When I went to install the attachment, the holes in my rack didn’t line up with the Prime unit. To make it work, I had to drill my own holes.

I picked up a half-inch drill bit from my local hardware store and used a drill strong enough to punch through thick steel. The way I approached it was simple: I affixed the handles using the middle bolt, threading it through one of the holes and tightening it down for stability. Then I used the other two bolt holes as guides for drilling.

Important note: your drill bit must be long enough to punch through the entire crossmember in one shot. If not, you’ll have to line holes up from the back, which is a nightmare. By drilling all the way through in one go, you avoid that hassle.

Once the holes were made, I had a total of eight—four for each side. That gave the unit full stability.

Dealing with Metal Shavings

If you’re drilling into metal, be prepared for shavings. These are sharp and dangerous. After drilling, I loosened a few bolts, rotated the crossmember, and shook the shavings out. Then I vacuumed everything up and cleaned the floor.

Do not skip this step. If you leave shavings inside the rack, they can fall out later—possibly onto your face during a workout. Clean them thoroughly before you call the job done.

Final Thoughts

The Prime Fitness Prodigy Adjustable RO-T8 Pull-Up Station completely changes the pull-up experience. It’s harder, recruits more forearms, and offers unlimited grip flexibility with the 360-degree rotating handles. The adjustment options let you go from ultra-wide to ultra-close, making it highly versatile.

The downside is installation. If your rack isn’t perfectly compatible, you may need to drill, which is not for everyone. Be prepared for that step if you’re considering this purchase.

Overall, though, this is one of the best pull-up attachments I’ve ever used. It makes a staple exercise even better, challenges your forearms in a new way, and provides long-term versatility in your training.
