Last week, I posted a review of the Titan Fitness QuickSlide J-Hooks.
I showed how these brand-new hooks immediately scratched and damaged the powder coat on my X3 rack. My conclusion was simple: don’t buy them.
What happened next surprised me. Titan Fitness saw the video, pulled the product from their website, and called me directly. Here’s the story.
Titan Pulls the QuickSlide J-Hooks
The day after my video went live, comments started coming in saying the QuickSlide J-Hooks were no longer available on Titan’s website. Later that same day, I got a call directly from Titan.
They admitted they hadn’t tested the J-Hooks on black powder coat racks like mine. Instead, they had only tried them on gloss-finish racks where the damage wasn’t as obvious. To their credit, Titan immediately admitted it was a mistake and pulled the product from sale.
Titan’s Offer to Make It Right
Titan didn’t just remove the product — they also wanted to fix the situation. They:
Refunded my purchase but told me to keep the hooks, making them a bit of a collector’s item.
Offered to replace my entire rack with an upgraded Titan Series rack.
I ultimately turned down the rack replacement. I love my X3 rack, with its Westside hole spacing, custom mods, and even the way the QuickSlide system works (once I added UHMW tape to protect the uprights). I didn’t want to give that up.
What Titan Did Instead
Instead of sending me a whole new rack, Titan worked with me to put together a package that would actually help my gym and content:
Two new 90” uprights so I can expand my X3 into a six-post rack.
A Titan flag for the gym.
An invitation to join their affiliate program so I can share direct Titan links in my content.
It was an incredibly generous response and one that shows they took this situation seriously.
Final Thoughts
The Titan Fitness QuickSlide J-Hooks were a flawed product, and my original review still stands: the first version should not have been sold.
But Titan’s response deserves recognition. They admitted the mistake, pulled the product, refunded my purchase, and went above and beyond to make things right with new gear and support.
Bottom line: Titan Fitness owned this situation. They turned a negative into a positive, and I’ll give them full credit for how they handled it. Once V2 is ready, i’ll be first in line to try them out.
